Artists in Cellophane (AIC) is the sponsoring organization of Art-o-mat®. The mission of AIC is to encourage art consumption by combining the worlds of art and commerce in an innovative form and believes that art should be progressive, yet personal and approachable.
I love the intention of providing access to original artwork for everyone to enjoy and start their own art collection… and that is my purpose in participating in this project. I also ejnoy hearing back from those that have found one of my little paintings and reached out to connect with me.
The paintings inside each hand made box is what I call my “Palette Paintings”… they are recycled from my old palettes of dried paint. They are about 2″ x 3” in size and come with a hanger on the back, so they are ready to hang.
Each box comes with an information card about me, one of my stickers and a little note with my contact info for those that would like to let me know where the little artwork has ended up….
These little matchbox characters are made from an empty matchbox, covered with clay and hand carved face – and some have embellishments of little gears, coins and misc ephemera.
They are the perfect hiding place for a secret note, a gift, a precious ring or perhaps a sacred place for a wish or a blessing.
If you don’t have access to an Art-o-Mat machine, I have some of these matchboxes available for sale on my website…
