new work
March 2010
My "Geisha Girls" series below have kept my hands busy during this recovery period for me.... my hands are too shaky (from medication) to paint...so... I decided to get out the scissors and cut paper.... In my odd sense of humor I decided to name my geisha girls with some old but good "G" names (instead of traditional Japanese names)

July 2009 EMCO showroom paintings....
Capital Ex & "Creative Concoctions" Join me down at Art Central for the first Thursday festivities on July 2... I am having a wee show in my studio (lower level 5B) with my reconstructed dollies.
June 2009 Here are some paintings I created while at the Jesse Reno workshop in Vancouver... I loved painting with my hands. Jesse was so sweet and I met some great fellow artisans
I have just completed some new scratchboard to take up to Modern Eyes Gallery in Edmonton. The images of "couples" are good Feng Shui to hang in the relationship centre of your home to help cultivate strong relationships.
May 2009 This year had a slow start...no painting until March. I went to Bali for an art retreat, which really shook things up for me spiritually...came back, reassessed my life & made some changes. I also took workshop by Michael deMeng on how to build "demented toys" which really got my creative juices going. Inspired by the beauty of Bali and the old rusty quality of found objects I experimented with different products to create the new work below. |
