healing energy
I received an email inquiry from J.P. to do a commission piece of artwork. Since some of my experience with commission work has been unfavorable, I tend not to do any.
She explained that this was a very special request. It was for a friend of hers who was sick and recently had a healing vision. The vision was of her laying in bed and the Virgin Mary laying next to her propped up on her elbow looking at her, and Jesus standing at the bedside looking down at them.
Inspired to do a "healing painting", I really wanted to create some visual reference for this lady to meditate on and create healing for herself. At first, I had a hard time coming up with the exact composition. My vision of what it would look like was blocked...for some reason all I could see was an aerial view, and that wouldn't capture the expression on the face of Jesus. She also suggested a size of 8 x 10 and I was struggling with how that would work. So I ended up telling J.P. that I couldn't do it.
J.P. was very disappointed at my news....so I decided to keep trying...I put it out to the universe...a request for composition. It came to me while I was driving...(which is how I usually get ideas...either driving or washing dishes). The project was back on!
I had some other priorities come up and had to extend this project. I was grateful for JP's patience and understanding ...and I'm glad that I waited to be in the right head space. It seemed that the right moment came along and the painting just evolved...like magic. Once again I was in "the zone"....just like when I created the piece called "the doorway".
I was very nervous as to how the artwork would be received...and it turned out great. I guess it was perfect and the image chosen to represent Jesus was the right one. This is the second time (actually 3rd time) I have felt divinely guided...and it is changing my perception on doing commission work.
