opening the receptors

The process of making my Demented Toy included dumping a bag of old toys out on the

table and picking out items that appealed to me. Then came the fun part of dismantling

them...like cutting off the barbie doll arms and the head off another toy....

the Dremel tool equipped with the cutting disk made this process quick and easy!

Next came the reconstruction...and Aves Apoxie Clay. This product comes in two parts,

in which you mix equal parts together and then it hardens rock hard after awhile.

It worked great to attach the barbie doll arms to the body of my new creation.

Then came a coat of white paint. The Golden fluid paint worked amazing as it

stuck to the slick plastic pieces. I painted white over the whole surface except for the

toys eyes...then after the white was dry, I followed with a coat of Nickel Azo Gold color.

Once that was dry I painted in details with darker colors.

I titled my demented toy "Opening The Receptors",

which came from a healing / energy session I received from a friend.

At one point during the session she said "I'm just opening the receptors"...

I loved how that sounded and thought it would make a great title for artwork.
